A quick note
You're looking at one small part of a bigger plan for the island, called Galveston 2050. This part covers the Seawall, from the buildings on the boulevard out to the sand.
The wall has kept Galveston safe for over a hundred years. We think the space on top of it and along the boulevard could do a lot more for the people who use it every day.
We built this so you can try it yourself. Move a lane, add some palms, put stairs where there aren't any. See what changes.
None of this is final, and none of it is funded. It's an example. If it gets you thinking about what the Seawall could be, it's done its job.
